The Taff Trail is a 55-mile multi-purpose route for walkers, cyclists and horse riders. It runs from Cardiff to the pretty market town of Brecon, and guests staying with us can explore various sections of the Taff Trail within a short drive of the campsite.
The closest point to the campsite where you can join the Taff Trail is at Talybont on Usk, a 20-minute drive away; alternatively, you can cycle there along the canal from Llangynidir.

Talybont-on-Usk is where you will find the highest point of the Taff Trail, some 439m (1440ft) above sea level. Here you can expect the most breathtaking views on the trail. You can cycle along the trail towards Abercynafon, following the Talybont Reservoir. The 360° views from the pathway at the top of the reservoir are stunning, and we challenge anyone not to stop and take them in when reaching this part of the trail. Alternatively, you can head north along the trail via Llanfynach, crossing the River Usk and heading into Brecon, which is the first and last stop on the trail.
The joy of the Taff Trail is that it opens up access to so many areas of the Brecon Beacons National Park, so by using it as a guide, you can create your own loop to explore forests, mountains or rivers. It is an extremely diverse trail and a joy to explore.
