As winter draws closer it is a perfect time to plan to visit some of the best local winter markets and craft fairs in the area. The winter markets offer the ideal opportunity to pick up unique Christmas gifts while sampling some of the best Welsh produce and experiencing a stay in one of our lovely cottages. Tretower A
rtisan Winter Market
Tretower’s medieval house will once again be filled with local designers and makers and their unique handmade artisan arts and crafts alongside festive food and drink stands. This market is one of the most popular and busy winter markets in the area. Free admission.
Royal Welsh Winter Fair
Monday 24 Nov – Tuesday 25 Nov: Starts at 8 am
Two days packed with competitions, festivities and Christmas shopping. One of the finest stock shows in Europe, with a full schedule of exhibitions and displays alongside the food hall full of the finest Welsh produce. As well as the many livestock and produce competitions, the late-night shopping evening allows for some Christmas shopping, enjoying the festive atmosphere and spectacular fireworks display.
Hay Festival Winter Weekend
Thursday 26 Nov – Sunday 30 Nov
Hay Festival Winter weekend is a smaller version of the Hay Festival with a range of more than 70 visiting writers, artists and performers, spreading festive joy with candlelit storytelling, film screenings, comedy and workshops. Explore the full programme and book tickets here. Hay’s market square is the focus of festivities where, on 29th November, the Hay Christmas lights are turned on, transforming the town into a winter wonderland. The free switch-on event takes place in Market Square, and includes a food festival and evening entertainment.

4* Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottages in the Brecon Beacons located 4 miles from Crickhowell and all within 50 yards of Cwmdu Campsite.
We have 2 cosy cottages available to book:
- Efail Isaf – ‘Old Smithy’ – Sleeps 6 in three bedrooms. Cosy cottage with log burner and picturesque garden and panoramic views of the National Park. Infant facilities are available.
- Efail Bach – ‘Little Smithy’ – One-bed cottage with large shower and separate large bath. Fantastic views from the bedroom, living room and garden. BBQ included. Infant facilities are available.

FIRE AND ICE INFORMATION
Imagine a Fire & Ice experience like no other! Rest and Rejuvenate peacefully in a Nordic wood-fired Sauna & Ice Baths with a Scenic mountain view looking out across the Welsh Brecon Beacons National Park also known as (Bannau Brycheiniog).
Guests are guided through a series of hot and cold transitions between the Sauna and Ice Bath. This may just be the perfect place to relax, unwind, improve your mental and physical health or recover from a long walk all while listening to the beautiful birdsong of the area.
