With over 600 miles of bridle paths and tracks, the Brecon Beacons is the perfect place for horse lovers. We have several riding and trekking centres local to Cwmdu campsite, allowing both experienced and novice horse riders to explore the thousands of acres of mountains, moors and lakes in the local area.
Llangorse Multi Activity Centre
This riding centre has over 25 miles of private bridleways to enable you to explore, all while taking in breathtaking views of Llangorse Lake. They cater for all ages and abilities, offering pony rides for young children or trekking for beginners, intermediate or advanced riders. Only a 15-minute drive from Cwmdu Campsite.
Tregoyd Mountain Riders
This trekking centre offers half-day and full-day treks, often incorporating lunch at one of the many lovely country pubs in the area. An opportunity to explore the Black Mountains whilst riding one of the centre’s many reliable and safe horses. Only a 22-minute drive from Cwmdu Campsite.
Trans-Wales Horseback Trails
Offering pub and picnic rides on one of their 30 registered Welsh Section D cobs, bred at the farm. The horses are forward-going and uniquely suited to the challenging terrain. These rides are not suitable for children or beginners – a 34 minute drive from Cwmdu Campsite.
Grange Trekking Centre
Grange Trekking is wonderfully situated with instant access to the Black Mountains. Breath-taking scenery with the most stunning, long-distance, panoramic views. All of this amazing countryside is made easy to reach, and totally unforgettable after an exhilarating day in the saddle. Grange Trekking Centre is a 50 minute drive from Cwmdu Campsite.

HOLIDAY COTTAGES INFORMATION
4* Dog-Friendly Holiday Cottages in the Brecon Beacons, 4 miles from Crickhowell and all within 50 yards of Cwmdu Campsite.
We have 2 cosy cottages available to book:
- Efail Isaf – ‘Old Smithy’ – Sleeps 6 in three bedrooms. Cosy cottage with log burner and picturesque garden and panoramic views of the National Park. Infant facilities are available.
- Efail Bach – ‘Little Smithy’ – One-bed cottage with large shower and separate large bath. Fantastic views from the bedroom, living room and garden. BBQ included. Infant facilities are available.
