Cwmdu Campsite on BBC Weatherman Walking | Derek Brockway

Cwmdu Campsite Featured on BBC’s Weatherman Walking with Derek Brockway

We were delighted to see Cwmdu Campsite featured recently on the BBC programme Weatherman Walking with Welsh presenter Derek Brockway.
During the episode, Derek’s walking route passed directly through our campsite as he explored the stunning scenery surrounding Cwmdu and Crickhowell in the heart of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Since the broadcast, many of our campers have told us how much they’ve enjoyed following Derek’s walking maps. His Weatherman Walking routes are beautifully presented, clearly marked, and ideal for walkers of every ability. Whether you’re looking for a gentle stroll along riverbanks or a more challenging climb into the Black Mountains, there’s a route for everyone.

These walks showcase the best of the region — from rolling farmland and hidden valleys to spectacular ridge views and peaceful villages. Many trails begin only minutes from the campsite, making them a perfect starting point for your next Brecon Beacons adventure.

Tip: Bring Derek’s map or download it to your phone before you set off — each walk includes detailed directions, distances, and local highlights.
