CWMDU CAMPSITES’ FAVOURITES
Whether you’re visiting us for the first time or as a return guest we understand one thing. There is nothing more frustrating than not knowing where to walk, or how to get there, especially in Cwmdu! That is why we are here to share with you Cwmdu Campsites top 5 walks!
We are here to cater for everyone, so if you fancy an all-day march or just a gentle afternoon stroll, take a look down below, and pick whichever you desire!
The Walks
1. BEACONS WAY
A four-hour walk along the Black Mountains, to our beautiful, local town Crickhowell. Beacons Way is a great walk for the day. You can do it straight from Cwmdu Campsite, so why not grab something to eat in Crickhowell afterwards?
2. THE HORSESHOE
The horseshoe takes you on to Mynydd Llangors and is a local favourite, as it has impeccable views of the Brecon Beacons, Llangors Lake and the Black Mountains. It is super easy to access, from our campsite and will take you 3 hours!
3. PEN GLOCH Y PIBWR
Pen Gloch y Pibwr is our nearest Black Mountain (just behind our campsite). It is easily accessible and has great flexibility for extended routes at the summit, provided you have a map!
4. TRETOWER WALK
The walk to Tretower is a much flatter alternative, that takes you to the beautiful, medieval village Tretower. Although you will not be heading up a mountain, the views are still just as amazing, as we are naturally surrounded by beautiful scenery!
5. THE DIVING BOARD
A secret ‘landmark’ in the Brecon Beacon, Fan Y Big. The Diving Board is a three-hour walk from the waterfalls car park, just outside the village of Talybont. After a short and sharp march up the side of the Beacon, you then walk on a well-trodden, flat path, where you have incredible views of all the beacons!
