This year Cwmdu Campsite celebrates 60 years of trading. We are a family-run campsite since 1964 and pride ourselves on our friendly atmosphere which sees hundreds of visitors returning year after year. Many of our guests have fond memories of our campsite from as far back as the 1960s when Olive and Eric Farr opened the site. Grandaughter of Olive and Eric, Sarah Farr, along with her husband Calvin Clark, now own the site and strive to make improvements every year.
This year sees the opening of our new gents’ showering facilities, in addition to more play equipment for children, outdoor seating around our coffee shop, and an expanded range of local produce and camping equipment in our on-site shop.
Being family-run has enabled us to invest back into the business every year and keep improving things to make our campsite a modern, comfortable, and welcoming place to stay. We have many of the modern conveniences of home, from underfloor heating in our gents, and spacious changing areas in all our showers, to fast WiFi available across the campsite, and the return of our delicious food pop-ups such as pizza, traditional Chinese, and hot dogs.
Our family has always strived to ensure all guests feel at home on our campsite, and we aim to make it a relaxing and enjoyable place for individual travelers, couples, families, and outdoor adventure enthusiasts to come back to again and again.
We have a wonderful team of wardens who work with us to ensure every guest is welcomed in person and given a tour of the site. Having such fantastic staff has enabled us to win many awards in the past few years, from Best Family Campsite 2023, Best Campsite in Wales, 2022 (campsites.co.uk), to Trip Advisor’s ‘Best of the Best’ 2020. Our holiday cottages have also won awards, such as the Traveller Review Award from booking.com.

HOLIDAY COTTAGES INFORMATION
We now have 4-holiday cottages you can book throughout the year!
Ty Ffynon Loft is a newly renovated loft apartment next door to Cwmdu Campsite in Wales. It offers stunning views from the garden, an easy walk to our local pub, and is dog-friendly. Perfect for solo travelers or couples.
Efail Bach is a one-bedroom cottage, with stunning views from the garden. A large comfortable bathroom with a separate bath, and a large shower. Located right next to the campsite if you have family camping.
Efail Isaf is a three-bedroom cottage that sleeps 6 in a quaint old-blacksmiths house (Old Smithy). This house has a wonderful garden for a family BBQ or sunbathing (we do some lovely weather through the summer!). It also has a log burner for cosy nights in front of the fire.
