A Celebration of Community and Countryside
Each summer, the Cwmdu Village Show brings together locals and visitors for one of the most anticipated events of the year. Set in the heart of the Black Mountains, just minutes from Cwmdu Campsite, it’s a lively celebration of Welsh countryside life and community spirit.

Founded in 1988, the show has grown into one of the most loved village events in South Wales. Organised by the dedicated Cwmdu and District Show Committee, the team continues to raise the bar each year with more attractions, bigger displays, and even better entertainment.
This year promises to be one of the best yet — full of energy, laughter, and local pride.
Fun and Entertainment for Everyone
The Cwmdu Show offers something for all ages, making it a perfect family day out in the Brecon Beacons. Visitors can look forward to a packed schedule of activities and competitions, including:
-
Dog shows with prizes for all kinds of breeds
-
Sheep and livestock classes celebrating local farming heritage
-
Horse and pony qualifiers drawing equestrian fans from across the region
-
Home produce and craft competitions for bakers, gardeners, and makers
-
Games and sports for children and adults alike
-
Vintage vehicle and machinery displays showcasing rural history
Every corner of the showground buzzes with activity — from cheering at the races to browsing local stalls filled with handmade goods and tasty Welsh treats.
Tip: Bring a picnic blanket and spend the day soaking up the atmosphere — or enjoy lunch from one of the
 many local food vendors.

The Show in Relation to the Campsite
The show is just the other side of the village, and would take about 10 minutes to walk there, though you can drive, of course. You can walk along the road at the bottom of the campsite, where there is a floodlit pavement to follow. If you have any other questions regarding how to get there, please ask in the shop, and someone will be happy to help!

There is no number limit for the show, so even if you decide last-minute to come along, you can buy tickets at the gate and pop in for as long or short as you’d like to.
Cwmdu Village Show is a really fantastic day out for friends and family, where you can also get a good taste of the local Welsh farming culture! Our local photographer, Lewis Chatfield, went along to the show last year and took some fantastic pictures, which we have included below, but you can view more of them here to get a good feel of the show before you go!
