We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Cwmdu Campsite has been awarded the title ‘Best Campsite in Wales Winner 2022’ from one of the biggest camping directory websites in the UK; campsites.co.uk.

Our team has worked tirelessly this year to ensure that our facilities are always cleaned to the highest standards, our guests are welcomed in the warmest way, our shop is always well stocked, and we give the best tourist information and walking advice to our guests.

We have had wonderful pop-up caterers on site serving everything from pizza, Mexican food, and hot dogs to cocktails, coffee, and pastries.

We have welcomed school groups, RAF training teams, Duke of Edinburgh walkers, and family groups. Solo travelers have fed back that they felt safe, and happy at the campsite, and found it was a warm and friendly campsite and village that they will keep coming back to.

Our local village of Cwmdu has been instrumental in the positive feedback we have had from visiting guests. Our local cafe and pub have warmly welcomed visitors and provided superb home-cooked food and great beer after a scenic walk on the mountains surrounding the campsite. Sunday roast dinners have also been a big hit with our guests!

Looking on to 2023, we have begun renovating our on-site shop to make it possible to stock even more wonderful local produce and stock for our campers next season. We also plan to install a warm water doggy bath for all of the four-legged friends we welcome to the campsite. Every year we invest back into the business to ensure we continually improve our facilities and offerings and hope to continue to ensure our guests have the best possible experience while on site.

We’ll be opening our gates again for the 2023 season on 24th March 2023. Book now with a £20 deposit to secure a pitch, log pod or shepherd’s hut for next year! We hope to welcome back many of the lovely guests who have visited and had wonderful memories in Cwmdu since 1964 when we opened, and we hope that if you haven’t been to Cwmdu before, 2023 will be the year you come and explore our incredible area!

New Perks to mention

Our on-site shop will be better than ever next year. We will be offering:

*Longer opening hours.
*Hot coffee and tea served on-site every morning
*Maps to lend or buy with guided walks from the campsite.
*More local produce to buy; from local meat, dairy, and fruit juice to preserves, honey, coffee, and gifts.
*A wide variety of camping essentials if you forget anything or something breaks! A few items you can buy will include electric hook-up cables, gas bottles, tent pegs, leveling ramps, camping kettles, cutlery, plates, mugs, camping chairs, and a wide variety of toiletries.
*Firepits and BBQs are allowed on site (off the ground) so come into the shop and buy firewood, BBQ charcoal, firelighters, matches, BBQ food, and disposable BBQs.
*Ice creams are available in many flavours from our local provider; Sidolis.
*We lend many items out if people forget things; from ice packs, tin openers, and bottle openers to frying pans and electric cable extension leads; this will continue into 2023.

We hope to see you in 2023 when things will look better than ever here at Cwmdu Campsite. We have the most wonderful team of wardens and we’re really excited for you to meet them! David and Francesco enter their third season here at Cwmdu. Their local knowledge is now extensive, and they are the most enthusiastic and helpful people you could hope to meet. Our new wardens, Nienke and Chris, are really excited to begin their new adventure in Cwmdu and we can’t wait for you to meet this genuinely lovely, friendly couple.

HOLIDAY COTTAGES INFORMATION

We now have 4-holiday cottages you can book throughout the year!

Ty Ffynon Loft is a newly renovated loft apartment next door to Cwmdu Campsite in Wales. It offers stunning views from the garden, an easy walk to our local pub, and is dog-friendly. Perfect for solo travelers or couples.

Efail Bach is a one-bedroom cottage, with stunning views from the garden. A large comfortable bathroom with a separate bath, and a large shower. Located right next to the campsite if you have family camping.

Efail Isaf is a three-bedroom cottage that sleeps 6 in a quaint old-blacksmiths house (Old Smithy). This house has a wonderful garden for a family BBQ or sunbathing (we do some lovely weather through the summer!). It also has a log burner for cosy nights in front of the fire.
