Packing for a camping holiday can be stressful, so go and take a look at our Cwmdu Campsite Checklist for some suggestions and timely reminders! Although we do sell some items in our shop for those unmentionable times where we forget things, it’s always good to have a checklist.

Main Essentials
- Tent– they come in lots of sizes, and a good rule of thumb is to aim for a tent that sleeps 1 or 2 people more than you need
- Tent Pegs – there is nothing more annoying than forgetting these! You will get some with your tent so don’t forget to take them
- Electric Hook-Up Lead – if you have booked an electric pitch then don’t forget your lead (we also sell these in our shop)
Camping Kitchen
If you are planning on cooking your own food, there are a few essentials that we suggest you bring!
- Tableware (plates, bowls etc)
- Cooking Pans and Utensils
- Camping Stove to cook your meals- (you can purchase gas in our shop, but bring your own to be sure!)
- Water Carrier or Jerry Can – so you don’t have to go to the site tap every time you need water (we have multiple freshwater taps on our campsite)
- BBQ– a favourable alternative to a camping stove (we have breeze blocks to elevate your BBQ off the ground)
- Charcoal for your barbecue (also sold in our shop)
- Cleaning Equipment – washing up bowls, sponges and scrubbers are very useful, don’t forget washing up liquid!
- Kettle
- Tin Opener- all the food and no way to open is never good!
- Bottle Opener
- Matches / Lighter
- Wet Wipes or cloths – for easy, quick cleaning
Sleeping
Whether you are in a campervan, motorhome or tent it is important you rest your head properly!
- A sleeping mat, air bed or camp bed for each person- airbeds are cheap and comfortable so a good place to start
- Pillows – easy to forget, but make a huge difference to a good night’s sleep
- Sleeping Bag or Duvet– both are very cosy but a sleeping bag takes up much less packing room. Don’t forget, it gets pretty chilly at night, even in summer!
Useful Extras
- Mallet– ideal for knocking in tent pegs
- Torch/Headtorch– useful for a midnight toilet run!
- Bin Bags
- Batteries– an easy thing to pack, you never know when you might run out
- Phone Charger
- Toilet Roll
- Insect Repellent– to keep the mosquitos away!
- Sun Cream-Â even if the sun isn’t out, it’s important to stay protected
- Tooth BrushÂ
Don’t forget, we sell many of these things in our on-site shop, but it is always useful for you to be sure to have your own!
