Cwmdu Loop
This is a lovely, short local walk that takes you on a small loop around Cwmdu. It also takes you straight past the Farmer’s Arms pub, so if you fancy a drink or something to eat, after your walk, you can stop off!
Time
40 minutes at a leisurely pace
Directions
- Turn right out of the top of the campsite
- Follow the lane, and turn right at the sharp junction by the houses, and go down this lane to the main road
- Cross the main road and turn left once you have gone over the little bridge
- Follow this straight part of lane, and then turn right at the next junction (there will be a sign here that says no HGVs)
- Go along this lane, and keep going straight ahead at the next junction
- Then, before the hill begins, there will be a footpath sign on your right Go over the stile here and into the field
NOTE: if you have a dog, please put it on a lead here as there may be sheep in the field
- Follow this path and go over the second stile. You will be able to see the lane and another bridge from here
- Walk towards the bridge
- Cross the stile, and go over the bridge towards the Farmer’s Arms Pub
- Once you have crossed the road, you can either stop off at the pub, or turn right and the junction and follow the signs back to the campsite

Bridle Path
Bridle Path
This local walk takes you for a slightly bigger loop around Cwmdu, but don’t worry, it is completely flat!
Time
1 hour
Directions
- Turn right out of the top of the campsite
- Follow the lane, and turn right at the sharp junction by the houses, and go down this lane to the main road
- Cross the main road and turn left once you have gone over the little bridge
- Follow this straight part of lane, and then follow the lane left at the next junction (there will be a sign here that says no HGVs)
- Go along this lane until you get to a driveway to a house and bridle path sign (this will be straight in front of you)
- Go down this bridle path for around 20 minutes
- Cross the stream and keep going
- After the stony bit of the path, you will come out on to the lane
- Go along this lane, and turn right at the junction by the old pink house
- Follow this lane, up and then back down the little hill, and turn right at the junction by the house named ‘Tregaer’
- Go along this lane for 1 mile
- Then turn keep going straight at the next junction (there will be a sign here that says no HGVs)
- Go along this lane, and keep going straight ahead at the next junction
- Then, before the hill begins, there will be a footpath sign on your right Go over the stile here and into the field

- Efail Isaf – ‘Old Smithy’ – Sleeps 6 in three bedrooms. Cosy cottage with log burner and picturesque garden and panoramic views of the National Park. Infant facilities are available.
- Efail Bach – ‘Little Smithy’ – One-bed cottage with large shower and separate large bath. Fantastic views from the bedroom, living room and garden. BBQ included. Infant facilities are available.
- The Hay Loft – Newly refurbished couples retreat. Peaceful, scenic views, private garden.
- Ty Ffynon – Beautifully decorated, two-bedroom house with wonderful views, log burner and free-standing bath in the main bedroom.
