We enjoy a highly acclaimed “Dark Sky” status, which means that we are free from light pollution and possess an ideal setting to view the night sky.
Beyond the visual and psychological aspects there are so many activities to consider.
This is one of the most accessible areas in the UK for outdoor activities. Cwmdu is particularly rich in wildlife and birds and it will be a poor day for example if you do not see a once endangered Red Kite in sky over the campsite.
In Cwmdu we are exceptionally well positioned for exploring both the mountain masses of The Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains. Historically we have everything from standing stones, to spectacular castles and from ruined abbeys to amazing small and unique churches such as Partrishow.
And just half an hour’s dive away lies the World Heritage Site of Blaenavon, where you can experience a coal mine – entertained by the wry humour of a true Welsh miner! This place is a must!!!
